Although it may look like a simple layout but the tank dimensions made it much more challenging. A Very high tank with only 12" wide to work with. We decided to use a triangular setup in this design to create some depth to the aquarium. I think it worked out beautifully... The Japonica running from left to right in the front of the aquarium then sloping upward toward the back left of the aquarium created the impression of a much deeper tank. The Rotala macrandra sp "Mini" was positioned well and helped the aquarium look much deeper than it was. The coloration of the Japonica was very nice also... green where the light was weakest, reddish where the light was most intense.
